The Hospice Quality Improvement Nurse will be responsible for
- Provides up front review of admission documentation
- Utilize tools to determine areas for improvement on OASIS and other documents
- Acts as a resource to clinical staff regarding OASIS, comprehensive assessment and POC documentation
- Provides education and training regarding documentation and the required components
- Ensure federal and state regulations are observed
- Review/Complete chart audits
- Ensures appropriate ICD-9 Coding and sequencing

Required Skills
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse strongly preferred or LPN with 5 years relevant experience and 1-2 years of homecare/hospice experience required.
- Working knowledge of Oasis and ICD-9 coding. OASIS certification strongly preferred; OASIS certification must be obtained within 18 months from date of hire. Hospice ICD-9 coding certification preferred
- Knowledge of federal regulations and state licensure requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of computer systems
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and educate others
- Excellent customer service skills
- Detail oriented and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
