Nurse Practitioner, Spartanburg Regional Medical Center - Spartanburg, SC
JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing direct patient care in a hospital and/or office setting. This includes, but is not limited to, care for acute and chronic problems, physical exams, and consultations. Responsibilities include making preliminary diagnosis; development of treatment plans, and follow up of patient problems. Will perform any other medical tasks that are approved by supervising physician and the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners.
The NP will be cross-trained in other areas of the office, to have knowledge of other duties that are performed on a day to day basis. The Nurse Practitioner is a masters prepared professional registered nurse who as an expert practitioner demonstrates depth of knowledge, competence, and skills in the practice of a selected area of nursing and scope of practice. This is a multi-functional role including clinical practice, education, consultation/liaison, and research. Other responsibilities will be assigned as appropriate.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- 1 year Nursing experience in area of specialization.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina and Recognition as Nurse Practitioner.
- Certification in specialty and prescriptive authority within 1 year of recognition as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Diabetes experience and hospital rounding experience preferred.
