We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced medical Billing Associate located in Nashville, TN. The individual will be responsible for ensuring payment from patient insurance companies by obtaining appropriate referral paperwork and insurance company authorizations throughout course of care. Additional responsibilities include: patient payment collection, managing last-minute insurance issues, reviewing medical records, insurance referrals/authorizations and to authenticate procedure and diagnosis coding prior to entering into billing system.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- ICD9 & CPT 4 coding knowledge and outpatient medical billing experience required.
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and the general public.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Certification in Professional Coding (CPC) is preferred and in some sites may be required.
