Responsibilities
- The Dental Assistant prepares patients for examination and ensures our patients are prepared, relaxed and are as comfortable as possible.
- Working chair-side under the supervision of the dentist, the dental assistant performs a variety of tasks; selecting and handing instruments to the dentist during dental procedures and practices of standardized procedures, techniques and methods used in dental assistance.
- Our Dental Assistants also may remove sutures, apply topical anesthetics to gums or cavity-preventive agents to teeth - remove excess cement used in the filling process and place rubber dams on the teeth to isolate them for individual treatment.
- The dental assistant must have excellent patient communication skills and be able to instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care and be skilled in cornal polishing and sealant placement.
- This position will be assisting primarily with Ortho and Oral Surgery, as well as some Endo and General as needed.
Qualifications
- Active WA State Dental Assistant Registration required.
- Ortho experience is required, willing to train in other areas of specialty.
- Must be flexible and enjoy a fast paced, team oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and professionalism required.
