- Must be registered or eligible for registration in Alberta with CARNA;
- Current CPR certification;
- Nursing diploma or degree;
- Clinical competence at the RN level in medical, surgical, obstetrics and pediatrics.
- A current and original Criminal Record Check is a requirement of all external applicants in order to be considered for a position.
Ability to
- Provide nursing care to long term and acute care patients;
- Assess the health of patients, developing and implementing nursing care plans;
- Establish priorities in nursing, carrying out or assigning planned nursing action;
- Provide patient and family teaching, counseling and discharge planning;
- Maintain charts and related records;
- Evaluate the effectiveness of and making revisions to nursing care plans;
- Foster positive working relationship with all staff, patients and families;
- Perform other duties as required.
