Overview
Apollo College's Dental Hygiene Program is seeking a part-time supervising clinical Dentist to work Fridays 7:30AM - 5:30PM.

Responsibilities

  • Abides by College and department policies and philosophies.
  • Fulfills department and College responsibilities as directed by the Dental Hygiene Program Director and/or Dean of Education.
  • Delivers curriculum in accordance with course outlines and/or program produced syllabi.
  • Assures completion of all student objectives prior to course completion.
  • Participates in the College's Academic Program Curriculum Review process on a semi-annual basis.
  • Participates in the College's Institutional Effectiveness Plan process on a quarterly basis.
  • Ensures that instruction meets or exceeds the standards and guidelines established by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation, ABHES, ACICS, and Federal, Arizona State, and local legislation.
  • Begins class sessions on time and provides a full period of instruction as scheduled.
  • Upholds expected standards of professionalism, quality, and ethics and in so doing serves as a role model for students.
  • Employs a variety of teaching styles in order to meet the varying learning styles of students.
  • Provides advice, tutoring, and other necessary support to students to enhance their chances of successfully completing classes taught.
  • Ensures that equipment used in the delivery of instruction is functioning properly.
  • Maintains a working/learning environment that is clean, safe, secure, and problem free.
  • Treats students in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Produces, administers, and grades examinations and other course assignments in accordance with course objectives identified in the course syllabus.
  • Monitors student performance on a periodic basis and provides feedback to students in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Attends Apollo College Faculty & Staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Attends staff development activities and in-service training as provided by the College.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interpersonal relationships of faculty and students with patients, peers, administration, and staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in the field taught or in a closely related discipline. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Licensed in State of Oregon
  • Dentist
  • Meet educational requirements as specified by ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation and other regional or national accrediting agencies.
  • At least three years field experience in dental hygiene.
