Assoc Dir-Resrch Billing/Comp - Scope of Position
The department of Research Operations functions within the office of Finance of the James Cancer Hospital for all aspects of research related operations promoting cost savings, compliance, and research special project initiatives. This department serves as a liaison to clinical research activities. Develops and applies methodologies to be used to promote cost savings within the institution and ensure compliance requirements are met to preserve the integrity of the James Cancer Hospital strategic plan and research mission.
Position Summary
Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of services, programs, systems, impacting hospital reimbursement, to promote cost saving initiatives that will promote and maintain the mission of the James as delineated in the strategic plan. The Program Director articulates the organization's mission, values and strategies, and priorities as an administrative liaison to internal publics (key impact department heads, physicians, researchers, and research staff in the CCC, OCDC, and CTO.) Coordinates and integrates processes to promote cost savings with other departments, develop and implement financial policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of hospital services for all protocol patients distinguishing billable and non-billable services. Facilitates education as needed, and ensures compliance with patient care and business practices.

Education and Experience
- Masters degree or combination of education and experience in health care or related area.
- Extensive administrative and leadership experience in a health-related program required.
- Knowledge of financial and billing processes required.
- Demonstrated ability in program administration - including knowledge of health care policies and reimbursement practices.
