General Description of Duties
Works under the direct supervision of the Dental Center Director. Exercises supervision of the dental assistants and other personnel.
Primarily responsible for the initiation and maintenance of the dental prevention and dental education program. Assists in the training of dental assistants and in the age-specific needs of all patients in accordance with the principles of growth and development for infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric life cycles. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Knowledge, Skills and abilities
- Working knowledge of all phase of the field of dental hygiene.
- Skill in the techniques of oral hygiene procedures and use of equipment, instruments and materials.
- Knowledge and practice of preventive dentistry and ability to instruct patients individually and in groups.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients and staff. Sensitivity to low income and ethnic minority community a must.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Dental Hygiene
- Experience: Previous experience desired, but not required
